Final Day at WDYTYA Live 2012

DSC07019Its the last day of "Who Do You Think You Are? Live" in London and it seems like I have been here a lot longer than just five days. I have done so much and met so many wonderful people.

I wore my Kujawy (The traditional Polish Folk costume from the area of my ancestors) today and had a wonderful time. Many people were curious what my outfit was, and enjoyed telling them the story about my Kujawy. There was an older gentleman from Poland who was part of security that recognized it right off. Here I am pictured at the stand for the Kresy-Siberia Foundation. I will write more about them in a future blog post.

I was not the only one dressed in historic clothing. There was a group that dressed in WWI military garb, some women who dressed in  older style clothing DSC07017and in this photo you see a steam ship captain from the "Find my Past" stand.

I met many others, that after seeing all the different costumes were seriously contemplating dressing up themselves for the next WDYTYA gathering next year. One woman told me that she always wanted to dress in a tradition Welsh dress, but had never done it. After seeing all the costumes she now has the incentive to follow through.

Tomorrow I return home, but I will not forget the wonderful moments and people that I met while I was in here in London.
