Cistercian Abby in Mogiła (Kraków) & Wooden Church

DSC08583After our visit to the Home of Jan Matejko, Gosia & I went to see the Cistercian Abby in Mogiła (Part of Kraków). The Abby can bedated back to 1222 when it brought to Mogiła.

We were going to look around and take some photos, but as it turned out, one person there used to be a director in the school gosia went to when she was younger & he offered to give us a special tour. His knowledge of the history of the Abby and the surrounding area gave us special insight to its history.

One thing I found amazing that in the basement of the church there are support arches that are built in four different styles, from Roman to Baroque. If one was not aware of these differences, they would not even notice, but once it was pointed out, there was definite differences in the arches.

Across the street is an old wooden church (St. Bartholomew) & after the tour of the Abby, he got the keys so he could open it to show us that wonderful old church.
