Zakopane - Gubałówka Mountain

Got some sleep despite the partying going on right outside the window of the Hotel, but we knew that being at a Hotel right smackdab in the middle of the town we would get some noise. We started our day with a breakfast in the hotel.

After breakfast we walked to the tram to take us up to the top of Gubalówka mountain. It was already about 9am and the streets were very quiet and not many people were walking about. I did notice that things really did not get hopping until after noon. I would have liked to go up to Kasprowy Wierch, but we did not have enough time. Kasprowy Wierch is a VERY popular destination and unless you want to walk up to the top at 1,987 m (6,519 ft), you have to take the cable cars. The wait in line for the cable cars is very long and the wait time matches the line length. You can only fit so many people in a cable car.

They have a tram to get to the top of Gubalówka mountain (1,126 m (3,694 ft), and it can hold many people. It is not as high as Kasprowy Wierch, but it does offer fantastic views of the DSC01259Quiet in Zakopane
Tatry Mountains. We walked around on top taking photos and relaxing, and surprisingly it was hotter at that hieght that it was below in Zakopane.

We returned to the town and stopped Cukiernia Samanta for some ice cream, then it was off to the hotel to pack our bags.

On the return drive we stopped at a restaurant called Karczma Bida and some delicious Polish food. YES, I have included photos of food again!! :D

We returned home, and I relaxed and I packed up my bags to leave the next day. I will be picking up my rental car in the morning.
