Toruń Old TownAfter my visit to Grudziadz, I made my way that evening to Toruń to stay with my 2nd cousin and his family. I have been to Toruń a number of times now, but it is one of my favorite places in Poland.
The next day we took a drive around the city of Toruń to see some new places that have been built. It is a must that you stop at the scenic view of Toruń's Old Town which can be viewed from across the Wisła river. The main photo here is the photo I took from across the river. You will get to see a night shot of the same view in a later post. Our next stop was at the local cemetery to pay our respects to our family members, some of whom had passed away since my last visit.
We wandered around old town wall to take in the sights and stopped at the ruins of the Teutonic Castle . It is always enjoyable to amble around old town which has not changed since I was here last in 2011. Toruń has strict building codes that keep old town looking historic.
During this trip I have tried to add to my collection of photos of the State Archives in Poland so of course, I had to get a photo of the Toruń Archives. The Archives are just outside of Old Town, so if you are visiting, you won't have to drive anywhere if you want to do some research. I ended my day by going to Suchatówka to stay overnight while visiting with family there.
I have inlcuded a few photos from my adventures on this day in Toruń. I hope you enjoy!
