Rootstech 2012 ends with Dinner with Dick Eastman
It has been a wonderfully informational packed few days here at Rootstech and I have experienced a genealogical conference like no other. It is sad to see it go, but it leaves me looking forward to Rootstech 2013. I would not be surprised if next year they beat the attendance record of 4500 people.
I had not been aware of it, but Dick Eastman had sponsored a dinner on the last day of the conference. It had already been sold out, but I was lucky to acquire a ticket from Kathy Hinckley as her plans had changed. What a fun evening it was for the estimated 110 people that were there. I had the opportunity to meet many more people for the first time and swap cemetery research stories and answer some questions about Genealogists in Second Life. Dick raffled of some door prizes at the end of the dinner. He gave away 2 subscriptions to his premium newsletter, 2 copies of the new Behold Genealogy Software, a Flip Pal, and finally the toy I was interested in .... an iPad2. I guess luck was not with me, because somebody won my iPad!
Now its time to head back home and dream of next year.

I want but don't want an I Pad. I suspect I will acquire one. Dick is an awesome speaker. I am glad you could enjoy.
