Hello,
my name is Joachim Fritz. My Father's ancestors descended from Gniewkowo, Gniewkowièc, Dziemonia, lat 18th - beginning of 20th century.
On June 10th, I'll be going to have a look to Inowroclaw's archives. I'm interested to know kind of addresses, where my ancestors use to live. Do you have any other further suggestions where to find addresses of my ancestors??
Kinde regards
Joachim Fritz
Joachim,
In the early years, a smaller village just used house numbers and not always in any sequential order. They may have been given the next number as it was built. The church sometimes listed the house number of the event. If you are going to Archives they may have some maps that will help you match up the house numbers. The State Archives in Torun may be of help to you also. If you are already going to the Inowroclaw Branch of the Archives, I would ask there what they have available.
Good Luck!
Tim,
thank you very much for your kind assistance!. Torun may also be helpful!
Regards
